The 2019 presidential candidate of the People' Democratic Party (PDP) and a former Vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who lost to President Mohamodu Buhari in a tight race with his party, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of helping the All Progressive Congress in winning the just concluded presidential election.
The main opposition party added that they have all proofs leading to their claim. Stating that they can provide proofs from INEC's server that the election was marred by irregularities and varying degrees of rigging.
Atiku and his team however pleaded that they be granted permission by the court to inspect the said server of the electoral body, so as to be able to provide the actual facts and figures that were entered on their database from the different polling units across the country.
The Independent National Electoral Commission in its own reaction, however replied that all claims by the PDP that they operate on server basis is false and as such, there was no such thing as INEC's server during the just concluded elections.
However, the ruling All Progressive Congress and the presidency has refused to give consent to the request made by Atiku and his party that they should be allowed access into INEC's database.
Some Twitter users have also taken to their handle to express their opinion on the thread, with some questioning the refusal of the ruling party in giving consent to PDP's request, while others believe that the claim by the opposition party is false, owing to the fact that, all electoral processes were carried out manually and not electronically. What's your opinion?
