In a television interview with the Channels TV, Reno Omokri, who was a Special Adviser to former president, Goodluck Jonathan, has condemned the ministries list that was sent to the senate for confirmation by the president.
Mr Omokri alleged that the list must have been compiled with the intent of sending it to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for prosecution, but instead, it was mistakenly sent to the Senate as a ministerial list
He is quoted as saying "when I saw the list, I had fears, because I was thinking that perhaps the man had made a mistake, and sent the list he meant to send to the EFCC for prosecution, and he sent that list to National Assembly, maybe he confused the list that he was meant to send to the EFCC, because obviously, if you look at that list, it's the list of who is who in the corruption world cup"
Mr Omokri however sited people like Godswill Akpabio as having been in one of the biggest corruption case ever, with a scandal of about N108 billion. He also mentioned people like Timipre Silver who was also prosecuted by the EFCC , from whom 48 houses were seized, as well as stealing N19 billion.
The ministerial list was sent to the National Assembly early last week for confirmation, and several reactions have trailed the list. According to some Nigerians, it is believed that only 5% of those on the list are technocrats.
